The Veterans Defence Industry Career Explorer assists Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans to understand how their skills and experience align with occupations across Western Australia’s defence industry domains of maritime, air, land, space, information and cyber.

The Career Explorer encompasses more than 150 occupations, including in-demand jobs the defence industry requires to sustain current and upcoming defence projects in WA.

There’s four different ways to input your information into the Career Explorer and refine your search results. 

  1. Use the occupation search bar to look for a specific occupation.  
  2. Enter your ADF Job Role and Rank and see your occupation matches. 
  3. Enter your qualification level and field of study to refine your occupation list. 
  4. Filter your search results by selecting a job family or main interest area.  

If using the Career Explorer on a desktop computer, you can make multiple menu selections by holding down the ‘control’ button on your keyboard. 

View your career matches

  • The list of defence industry occupations will be refined, based on your selections from the previous step. 
  • Each job role will show a short description, median salary, demand level and a similarity score, matching the information you provided about yourself. 
  • You can sort your career matches by highest similarity, median salary, level of demand or in alphabetical order.
